We learned we crossed a big milestone this week in the process to bring Jonathan home. We exited IBESR! Which means we have been 100% approved by Haitian social services to adopt Jonathan. Now we move into the court system called Parquet to make him legally ours.
Three more big steps to go. 1st we need an adoption decree, 2nd we need a passport, 3rd we need a visa. All of this could take 6-9 months. But having IBESR behind us is really big since it's the most unpredictable part of the process.
We have earnestly prayed to exit IBESR before the end of the year. Thank you everyone who has been praying with us. I am overwhelmed with the prayers being lifted on our behalf from people we know and people we don't. We are grateful!
