That day has arrived. We get one chance to send Bear a care package, the contents of which must fit in a one gallon Ziploc bag.
I slept with this bear and this blanket the past couple nights so they smell like us. Good or bad. Not too sure.
The smelly comfy things are going with a photo album:
Somewhere along the line I decided Bear must also hear our voices when he first sees our pictures. The butterfly came through. In its wings are pictures of Bear, mommy, daddy, Merl the cat, Simone the cat, and the house. The coolest part, as each page turns, our voices narrate, the cats meow, and we tell Bear we are coming soon.
This bear smushed into a Ziploc will go before us to Ethiopia. His job is to give love and comfort until we get there. Then we will have the pleasure of bringing two bears home.
This week was a little rough as the reality of our court delay sunk in. I have a new appreciation for this old post of Jana's. Preparing the care package helped keep our heads screwed on straight. :) We also know four families in Ethiopia TODAY about to meet their kids TOMORROW! We have the privilege of following along with them through the gift of The Blog. This will be a joyful week. This is what it's all about.

What a cool photo album! I'm hoping we'll get to travel together, although I know we both wish we were traveling SOONER. I keep telling myself, there must be a very good reason why we were kept waiting. Loving these updates, and counting down the days until we get to see you bring home your precious Bear!!
ReplyDeleteNeat photo album!
ReplyDeleteOur court dates are only a couple of business days apart, so I'm thinking we might travel together! Have you been advised of any AGCI embassy dates after Dec. 28th? I would love to know what tentative dates are anticipated for January. I function best when I can plan (even if it's only tentative or it's a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C).
I'm hoping the families traveling this week get a few minutes to peek at our babes!
Hey, we sent the same bear to our Jonathan. hey, a lot of love can fit in one gallon ziploc!!! Especially when it will be followed up with a mommy & daddy. It is Jonathan's favorite toy now!!! We could never lose it.
ReplyDeleteOh... I'm so sorry that you didn't pass court. Sending prayers your way... I know how tough the wait is... especially at this point.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure of the artist's name, I can't make out the scribble. lol. But, we got it at the Italian Restaurant. There are SO many wonderful pieces there - you will have a hard time picking one. This one caught our eye right away. They unmount the canvas and roll it up in a tube for you, so we just packed it in our bags and then had it mounted when we got home. Nice & easy! :)
ReplyDeleteHi there - love the photo album! Isn't it amazing to know your little man will be touching that soon.....and hearing your voices soon! WOW!! 12/1 is just around the corner - we're already praying!!!
