At five months, Samuel Bereket is smart, strong, attentive, affectionate, and funny. There's something about him that feels like an old soul, but he's also lively. He likes Ethiopian dancing, my hair, eating, eating my hair, and being where the action is. Thanks to his special mothers, he's also pretty crazy about kisses.
Feedings can be dreamy. With one hand he wraps those tiny perfect fingers around my ring finger on the bottle. We lock eyes. With the other hand he twirls his fingers in my hair. Jeesh, I'm smitten. It's heaven, really.
The transition has been hard and I will write about that too. Until then, here are some Gotcha Day photos because I know everyone just wants to see him!
